Sophia often paints in plein air and will transfer the small sketch like paintings into larger pieces. This practice allows her to take in the scene, exploring elements such as sounds, smells and visuals. An avid traveler, Sophia will fill travel journals with glimpses of everyday scenes. These are treasured memories where for a moment of time all the vivid impressions of that scene come rushing back.
